ourStory
In a pancake house in East Tampa, the future founder of JTEP and her date dreamt together that one day they would help countless families. Five years later, they were married, expecting their 3rd child, and launching what is now Joining Together Eliminating Poverty, Inc.
They started by giving diapers and clothes. Now, the charity has grown to be multiple community programs, classes, and a national movement.

Alayna is a mother of 5 small children, a curriculum director at an ed-tech company, a lactation counselor, a childbirth educator, and our web designer among many other things.

The members of JTEP's leadership team wear many hats. Father, husband, son, brother, mother, sister, wife, daughter, and grandmother. We place high importance on the strength of families and won't offer any services we wouldn't use ourselves.
Executive Director
Maurice is a work-at-home father of 5 small children, a newborn class instructor, a childbirth educator, and our resident SuperDad.

Melody is a mother of 5 and grandmother of 28. She is a longtime community leader and volunteer, a retiree from the City of Tampa, a dedicated church member, and the best of Super Grandmas.
